Bush Violates Law and Commits Impeachable Offence

 

The President claims he has authority as the Commander-in-Chief to conduct warrantless wiretaps of Americans.  But when Congress enacted the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act in 1978, it expressly rejected the President’s claim of inherent authority to conduct warrantless wiretaps.  It then went further and made it a crime to conduct such wiretaps.

Letter Urging Members of Congress to Vote Against the Conference Report on the USA PATRIOT Improvement and Reauthorization Act of 2005

 

 

Dear Members of Congress:

 

We are writing to urge you to vote against adoption of the Conference Report on H.R. 3199, the Patriot Act reauthorization bill.  The bill fails to correct the flaws in the Patriot Act that threaten the privacy and civil liberties of all Americans.
