"In American, 2004, November second, in Ohio, George Bush was announced the winner by 118, 000 votes. Not counting 239,127 votes, almost twice as many votes as the so called victory margin, were never counted. And you know, here is the nastier secret: it ain't just Ohio; and in 2000 it wasn't just Florida. That's what they want you to think. Not counting the votes is as American as apple pie and there were 3,680,000 votes cast and never counted in the United States of America, not Ukraine, not Uganda. I got this from deep in the files of the Election Information Administration of the U.S. government for which we stand."

VIDEO: ZEITGEIST-the movie  2 hours

Zeitgeist is a German word that literally means ‘spirit of the times.’ The documentary is comprised by three sections and examines religion, 911, and the U.S. banking system. It is essentially an exploration into how humans have been and continue to be controlled and manipulated.

Part I: The Greatest Story Ever Told

Part I evaluates the historicity of the Bible. In furtherance of the Jesus myth hypothesis, this part argues that the historical Jesus is a literary and astrological hybrid, and that the Bible is based on astrological principles documented by many ancient civilizations, especially pertaining to the movement of the sun through the sky and stars. The film explains how and why early civilizations personified the Sun as the "representative of the unseen Creator or God" and how stars were linked into constellations, the 12 constellations being a place of travel for "God's Sun" and representing "elements of nature that happened during that period of time." This section is also used by the film to show the Pagan origins of the symbol of the Cross.

Part II: All the World's a Stage

Part II of the documentary claims 9/11 was engineered to generate mass fear, justify going to war with Afghanistan and Iraq, to remove civil liberties from the general public, and to make more money for the people in power.

Part III: Don't Mind the Men Behind the Curtain

According to Part III, powerful bankers have been conspiring for world domination and increased power while the rich of society have been using their wealth to increase financial panic and foster a consolidation of independent competing banks. The film details and claims that the Federal Reserve System of the United States, was created in order to steal the wealth of the nation. It explores war profiteering by banking cartels and defense and military contractors. It describes the goal of these bankers as world power over the people.

Senator Dodd Says:  It’s Time to Say Enough!

A senior Democratic statesman took to the Senate floor yesterday and delivered a jeremiad against President Bush and his lawlessness the likes of which I'm not sure we've ever heard there before. What set off Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) was the warrantless surveillance bill sent over from the House this week and seemingly assured of passage in the Senate. The bill significantly broadens Bush's spying powers and essentially guarantees civil-lawsuit immunity for the telecommunications companies that cooperated in earlier surveillance efforts.

The dot-com boom-and-bust is often compared to the 1849 Gold Rush, and founder Jeff Bezos offers historical evidence showing how similar they were: from the riches made by pioneers to the media hype that attracted luckless speculators. But a better analogy can be found in the early days of the electric industry, he says. In the late 1800s, the U.S. was first wired to support lightbulbs; the following century saw a long procession of new appliances, life-changing advances, and of course some amusing failures. His conclusion in 2003: "I believe there's more innovation ahead of us than behind us."
