Prepare yourself for a shock
! Congress wants the Wild West to make
a comeback. Recently Congress permitted
the Assault
Weapons Ban to lapse, thereby permitting any gun-totting nut to go out and
get himself an AK47 or some other machine gun for…err.. ‘home defense’. On September 25th, the House of
Representatives voted on bill
HR3193 which repealed gun control laws in the District of Columbia. The measure, sponsored by Rep. Mark Souder
(R-Ill.), legalizes possession of handguns, semiautomatic weapons and even
armor-piercing bullets in the federal city.
Cops in D.C. must just love that.
As if that weren’t enough, the bill also permits possession of unregistered
weapons. The bill passed 250 to
171. Yippee. The Wild West is back !
But D.C. is in the East ? Who
cares stupid, it’s the thought that matters.
Meanwhile at the Washington D.C.
airports, Dulles and Reagan National, the Metropolitan
Airports Authority, unanimously agreed to permit passengers and other
airport visitors to carry guns, knives and other weapons. Really ! I couldn’t make this stuff up even
if I wanted to. Is this what Homeland
Security is supposed to be like ?
Please someone wake me up from
this nightmare, tell it isn’t so.
Please, someone, anyone ?
By the way, the very same day, a 39-year-old
housewife was found guilty of possession of a high-powered rifle on school
property, the school where her 12-year-old son had previously threatened to
shoot people back in June. Had enough, or you want more ?
Well here is just one more item to
consider… a couple of days before also in Virginia, about 30 pro NRA protestors
strode into Falls
Church Town Hall, with handguns strapped to their hips, demanding their
right to bear arms. The town council was considering legislation related to
guns. Most on the town council were
said to be ‘shaking in their boots.’ Only in America, right ?
